Cory was born and raised in Baltimore, MD and attended Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. Prior to graduation, he began calculating and filing individual tax returns for family and friends since he had been calculating and filing his own tax return since age 15.

After graduation, he began working for ARAMARK Corporation Headquarters in Philadelphia, PA as a General Ledger Accountant performing full accounting support to various locations. Over the years, he improved his knowledge and skills and developed a buzz that transitioned into Johnson Financial Services where he provided tax preparation services.

In late 2011, he began working for Grant Thornton, LLP, Global Public Sector practice in Alexandria as an Audit Associate and soon passed the CPA Exam. In his time at Grant Thornton, he performed auditing & advisory services to Federal Government entities. After a year and a half, he joined KPMG and continued providing auditing services to Federal Government entities. He left the Federal Government after working 7 years as an Accountant & Lead Accountant to start his own CPA tax compliance firm Cory W. Johnson, CPA, LLC.

Today, Cory has over 15 years of experience in providing professional services to individuals, small business owners, and government entities. He has engulfed himself with the knowledge, skills, and the ability to provide Accounting and Tax services and is trusted by his family, friends, and clients.
