James is the Founder and President of Renew Wealth Management, located in the Washington, DC metro area. He has an extensive background in comprehensive wealth management with particular depth in tax, investment, retirement and multi-generational planning. He has worked in the wealth management industry for more than 18 years. He was a Vice President - Financial Consultant for 10 years at Charles Schwab & Co where he advised over $1.4 billion in client assets and previously served as Director - Financial Planner for a private multi-family office firm assisting ultra high net worth families with $30 million or more in assets.

As an Iraq War veteran, James has held various leadership and intelligence positions during his more than 20 years of service as a US Army Military Officer in the Army National Guard. Throughout his career, he has been mobilized to support humanitarian and regional natural disaster emergency responses, as well as to provide assistance to federal law enforcement agencies, including US Capitol Police Command. His final assignment was with the White House Military Office, where he worked within the Executive Office of the President of the United States, providing support to the Council of Economic Advisers and the National Security Council.

James is deeply committed to giving back to his community, particularly in supporting Veterans. He actively volunteers with several Veterans organizations, passionately advocating for improved treatment of Veterans grappling with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). James also dedicates his time to mentoring Veterans who are navigating the challenging transition from military service to civilian life, offering guidance and support. Additionally, James is devoted to promoting financial literacy among youth in the DC Metro area, empowering them with the knowledge and skills necessary to make informed financial decisions and secure their future.

As a seasoned global traveler with over 60 countries in his adventure portfolio, he delights in the challenges of golf (his handicap notwithstanding), revels in the rhythms of Latin dancing, and deeply values the precious time spent with his family. James is a native of Jacksonville, FL.
